Local Flowers, Naturally Grown

At Brown Dog Farm, our goal is to provide a wide variety of fresh, high-quality and long lasting blooms to customers in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. We grow over 50 types of annual and perennial flowers, all without the use of any herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers. Instead, we fertilize with compost and organic fertilizer from other Alaskan businesses. Nestled at the edge of the Moose Range in the foothills of the Talkeetna Mountains, our farm has a short yet productive season fueled by the long, cool days of the Alaskan summer. Beginning with tulips and daffodils in late-May, we produce blooms into September, using high tunnels and crop covers to produce varieties that need a little extra warmth.

Founded in 2013, our farm is named after our old dog, Oliver, the original brown dog. He loved the farm, with its quiet setting and opportunities for outdoor adventuring, just as much as we do. In 2026 we welcomed our newest brown dog into the family, Maeve, who is slowly learning that all day freedom comes with a few responsibilities, the most important being that you can’t trample plants.
